The current hosepipe ban means that Hertford Town Council is adapting the way it, and its providers, look after Hertford's local environment – saving as much water as possible in the grounds of Hertford Castle, at Hertford Cemetery and closed churchyards, across its 8 allotment plots, as well as for the planters and raised beds the Council manages across the town.
Reducing water use is especially important in Hertfordshire, with the county being home to 10% of the globe's chalk stream rivers, a habitat that’s as rare as rainforests!
