๐Ÿธ Meet Bob โ€“ one of our Live Longer Better Champions!

After more than 20 years running a junior badminton club, Bob decided it was time to use his experience with a completely different generation.

As someone who relates personally to the Live Longer Better message, Bob became a Champion to help encourage more people to stay active, connected and confident as they get older. ๐Ÿ’š

Working alongside Hertfordshire Badminton coaches and Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership, Bob has been part of an exciting project creating new opportunities for older people to pick up a racket, get moving and enjoy badminton in a friendly and welcoming environment.

๐Ÿธ And now, new groups are up and running across Hertfordshire!

Whether you haven't played for years, have never picked up a racket before, or simply fancy trying something new, take a look at the posters below to find out what's happening in North Herts ๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿ‘ A brilliant example of how our Live Longer Better Champions are turning the message into action in communities across Hertfordshire.

๐Ÿ’š Over ยฃ50,000 invested in new groups across Hertfordshire!

In the first three months of this financial year, over ยฃ50,000 of funding has been secured with the support of Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire. This has helped support new groups and activities across the county. ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿ“ฃ Have your say on the future of adult social care

The Big Conversation on Care has launched, giving people across the country the opportunity to share their experiences and views on adult social care.

Whether you:

๐Ÿ‘ค use care or support services
๐Ÿ’œ care for a family member or friend
๐Ÿค work or volunteer in health and social care
๐Ÿ’ฌ or simply have views about how care should work in the futureโ€ฆ

your voice matters.

The national consultation is part of the work of the Casey Commission on Adult Social Care, and the views shared will help inform thinking about the future of care in England.

At Age Friendly: Live Better Hertfordshire, weโ€™re keen to make sure the voices and experiences of people across Hertfordshire are heard in conversations that could shape the future.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Find out more and take part: caseycommission.co.uk/bigconversation/

Please share this with anyone who may want to have their say.

๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ“ฑ Need a little help with technology?

We love seeing initiatives like this ๐Ÿ’œ

Digital confidence can make a huge difference-whether itโ€™s keeping in touch with family and friends, accessing services, booking appointments or simply feeling more confident using a phone, tablet or computer.

Caring Herts CIC have Digital Champions at many of their Wellbeing Hubs, helping community members with IT, technology and connectivity.

๐Ÿ‘ A brilliant example of local organisations working together to help people stay connected, confident and independent.

Take a look at the original post below to find out more ๐Ÿ‘‡

Did you know that we have Digital Champions at most of our Wellbeing Hubs?

They are volunteers provided through our partnership with Connected - North Herts and Stevenage and and they help our community members with any IT, technology or connectivity issues they might have.

These volunteers do an amazing job of helping our community members use their devices safely and access local services online.

Just another fantastic service provided by our Wellbeing Hubs! ๐Ÿ’œ
