“Hexham Fireworks is a highlight of our town’s calendar, bringing the whole community together for a brilliant evening. Each year, we ask those who can to donate towards the following year’s display, and the people of Hexham respond with remarkable generosity.
Just £5 from everyone who is able to contribute helps secure the future of this annual event, and any surplus funds are donated to local charities and community causes.
We are enormously grateful to everyone who plays a part in making the event happen, particularly the Rotary Club of Hexham, Lions Club of Tynedale and North of Tyne Mountain Rescue, whose support is invaluable. I look forward to seeing residents and visitors come together once again for what promises to be another fantastic display.” Councillor Derek Kennedy

****BREAKING NEWS****

Today Hexham declared itself the first 'Arts Town in the UK' - with a huge showcase of the creative talent we have right here in our small town. We pack a local and international punch...from choirs, blues dancing, over 55 dancing, ceilidh, dramatic arts, textile clubs, writing groups, art classes, urban sketchers, brass bands, art society lectures right through to a sixth Nobel Prize for literature this week for a locally-based, international publisher - that's more than some countries!

Contact details for some of the organisations are next to each photo...but if you'd like to contact any of them please get in touch with us in this page...it was an amazing launch of what will cumulate in a formal event to 'crown us' next spring 2027.

So watch this space...or maybe fill it with your creativity.
