Meet Rob and Sean 👋 They are wildfire experts with the following advice to make sure we all have a safe and fun summer...

To protect Northumberland please:
🥪Pack a picnic not a BBQ
❌Don’t set open fires
✅Follow the Country Code

Wildfires put people, wildlife, and their homes at serious risk not to mention the lives of NFRS firefighters who tackle the blazes.

During the summer holidays, our ranger team headed into the beautiful College Valley to make sure footpaths were clearly marked for visitors.

Their first stop was Hethpool, where they installed a new waymarker on St Cuthbert's Way. Ranger Nathan made sure the post was securely positioned and standing proud. Next, the team came across a fallen fingerpost that needed reinstating. With the recent dry weather leaving the ground hard and stony, digging it back in place proved especially challenging.

Finally, they checked the waymarkers along a nearby path, enjoying spectacular views across the valley as they worked. All part of helping visitors explore the National Park safely and confidently this summer.
