🧠 NORTHUMBERLAND SNUBBED BY LABOUR AGAIN

The Government has announced a £343 million expansion of community mental health support centres across England.

But not a single one is planned for Northumberland.

The North East locations announced include Newcastle, Gateshead, County Durham, Darlington and Sunderland, while people across Northumberland face significant journeys to access specialist services.

People in Berwick, Alnwick, Hexham, Ashington, Blyth and our rural communities deserve accessible mental health support too.

We'll be asking why Northumberland has been snubbed, and what the Government intends to do about it.

Conservative Northumberland County Council Leader Glen Sanderson has joined a cross-party call for progress on dualling the A1.

The A1 is too important to Northumberland for party politics. Northumberland Conservatives will work with anyone who can help deliver a safer, more reliable road and ultimately the full dualling our county needs.

While we genuinely welcome their support now, we won't stop holding the Government to account or putting pressure on Ministers to reverse their decision to cancel the A1 scheme.

This is about getting the right result for Northumberland.

Keep up the pressure. Reverse the decision. Dual the A1 🛣️

Our veterans deserve better 🇬🇧

Councillor Brian Erskine - Cowpen Ward, Blyth. has challenged the Government over delays and the level of compensation available to veterans who have suffered serious injuries through their service.

Brian is asking the Government to come back with the facts:

🔵 How many claims are outstanding?
🔵 How long are veterans currently waiting?
🔵 When will the backlog be cleared?
🔵 Are compensation levels for the most seriously injured actually enough?
🔵 Will the Government carry out a proper review?

People who have served our country and suffered life-changing injuries shouldn't have to fight another battle just to receive the support and compensation they deserve.

We will keep pushing for answers.

26 YEARS vs 22 YEARS 👀

New Shadow Chancellor Andrew Griffith has more private sector experience than the entire Labour Cabinet combined.

Andrew spent 26 years in the private sector, including 20 years at Sky, where he rose to CFO and then COO.

By comparison, the 21 members of the Labour Cabinet have around 22 years between them.

When businesses, farmers and employers are being asked to shoulder the consequences of government decisions, experience of how the real economy actually works matters.

One Shadow Chancellor: 26 years.
The entire Labour Cabinet: around 22 years.

🚜🏪 SCRAP LABOUR’S FAMILY FARM & FAMILY BUSINESS TAX

Conservatives from across the country have written to the Prime Minister demanding that Labour fully reverse its changes to Agricultural Property Relief (APR) and Business Property Relief (BPR).

This isn’t just about farming. It affects family businesses too, businesses that provide jobs, invest locally and form the backbone of communities across Northumberland.

And the impact on investment is already concerning.

📉 CBI Investment found that 55% of businesses affected by the BPR changes and 49% affected by the APR changes have paused or cancelled planned investment.

💷 More than 3 in 5 expect to cut investment by over 20%, with average anticipated reductions of 15.8% for APR-affected businesses and 15.5% for BPR-affected businesses.

👷 Almost 1 in 4 family farms and businesses have reduced their headcount due to the inheritance tax changes.

That means less money going into new machinery, buildings and equipment, less business growth and fewer jobs.

Family farms and family businesses should be able to invest, grow, employ local people and pass successful businesses on to the next generation.

Northumberland Conservatives stand with our family farms AND our family businesses.

Labour should use the Autumn Budget to scrap the Family Farm Tax and Family Business Tax.

🔵 JENNY RICHARDS LAUNCHES HER CAMPAIGN FOR AMBLE

A fantastic team out today as Jenny officially launched her campaign to be Amble’s new County Councillor.

This by-election has come about in the saddest of circumstances following the death of Cllr Arty Hume, who served Amble and its residents. Jenny is determined to run a positive and respectful campaign focused on Amble’s future.

Jenny is already working hard for the town as Deputy Mayor of Amble and through her work with Amble Development Trust (ADT). She knows the community, understands the issues and is already involved in making things happen.

And there is a strong record to build on. Conservative-led Northumberland County Council and Advance Northumberland have invested significantly in Amble, supporting regeneration, new jobs and businesses. That work has helped deliver developments including The Amble Inn and, most recently, helped bring Aldi to Amble, creating around 40 new jobs.

🏫 There has also been major investment in our young people, including the £47 million James Calvert Spence College campus, alongside new specialist SEND provision.

🏠 But Jenny believes Amble has done its bit when it comes to new housing. With so many homes already being built, the priority now must be ensuring the roads, healthcare, schools and wider infrastructure keep pace.

Jenny wants to build on the investment already secured, support Amble’s businesses and High Street, and make sure the town continues to get its fair share from County Hall.

Her message is simple:

We've seen the houses. Now let's build the infrastructure, support our businesses and keep investing in Amble.

🔵 Jenny Richards for Amble. Putting Amble first.

Labour won the rural vote, then squandered it.

Now Joe Morris is demanding that his own Government repair the relationship with farmers that he helped wreck.

Joe Morris says the Government must support Northumberland’s farmers.

He should start by examining his own voting record.

🚜 He backed Labour’s Family Farm Tax.

🛻 He backed a Government that increased the tax burden on double-cab pickups used by farmers.

🌾 He backed Labour’s plans to impose a new carbon charge on fertiliser.

Now he has written an article explaining how important it is to support British farming.

Northumberland’s farmers do not need empty words from Labour MPs. They need a Government that stops piling on costs and making it harder to farm.

🌷 PRUDHOE LOOKING BLOOMING GREAT!

Northumberland County Council Leader Cllr Glen Sanderson has been out in Prudhoe with local Conservative councillor Gordon Stewart, talking about the issues that matter to residents.

This park had been abandoned for decades with no plan for its future, until Conservatives took control of the Council in 2017 and now its an amazing place loved by the community & visitors.

They also stopped to see the fantastic display of plants still blooming in the park, donated and cared for by the Prudhoe Community Allotment.

👏 A great example of local people, community groups and councillors working together to make a real difference.

💙 Northumberland Conservatives, working for our communities all year round.
