North West Coastal Monitoring One of seven regional programmes which collectively monitor the entire coast of England and Wales.

The north west monitoring program covers the English coast from the Welsh border in the River Dee to the Scottish border in the Solway.

Today we carried on the defence inspection and have now covered from Hightown to Crossens.

On the way we discovered these pre historic footprints (for ref my (100kg) foot next to it to show they aren't fresh) at National Trust Formby and a little further up the coast we found part of a wreck which we'd never seen before.
