We're making it easier for people who use British Sign Language (BSL) to contact us for social care support.

We now have QR codes giving you easy access to Convo, our BSL translation service at reception areas in these buildings:
• County Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 8XJ
• Skelmersdale Library, Southway, Skelmersdale, WN8 6NL
• Thornton Social Services Office, Four Lane Ends, Fleetwood Rd South, FY5 5EB
• Lancashire County Council's White Cross offices on South Road, Lancaster, LA1 4XQ

Look out for Convo Access QR codes in reception areas.

📱Simply scan the code on your phone to connect with a qualified BSL interpreter. It’s free, quick, confidential and easy to use, with no app or registration needed.

The typical Vikings' drink of choice was mead - fermented honey, strong and warming, shared at feasts and around the fire 🍯

You can try it for yourself, courtesy of the The Lancashire Mead Company, right here at Heysham Viking Festival, 18th & 19th July.

First live pipistrelle bats, and now a whole bunch of honeybees - you never know what you'll find at your local library!...

First live pipistrelle bats, and now a whole bunch of honeybees - you never know what you'll find at your local library! 🐝

A huge thank you to Morecambe Bay Bee for giving such an interesting talk all about their beekeeping experiences and all the different natural goodness found in beehives! It was really fascinating to meet the bees and see how their hives work firsthand, and to try the honey and homemade products.

Thank you as well to all our Friends volunteers - the cakes made with local honey did not disappoint and you all worked so hard as always to put on a brilliant free event for our community. 🐝🦀💛🧡
