High Wycombe Library Situated in the heart of the Eden Shopping Centre, High Wycombe Library is the largest library in Buckinghamshire.

Opened in the Eden Centre in June 2008, High Wycombe library has everything from books and multimedia services on the busy leisure and children's floor to well-resourced, high-tech facilities on the quiet study and learning floor. It’s half term! With this recent heatwave, did you know you can take a breather and cool down in one of our libraries?

There are plenty of events that you and your children can enjoy while school’s out! You can get some steps in with Simply Walk at Beaconsfield Library, bring your babies and toddlers along for some fun at Bounce and Rhyme sessions, or even get crafty with some story-inspired art at High Wycombe Library.

Celebrate the National Year of Reading with the WhizzFizz Children’s Art Competition! Unleash your inner artist and get creative. Entries for the competition can be a drawing, painting or collage - inspired by a story you love.

Entry Guidelines:
- Maximum size A3 (29cm x 42cm).
- Open to children aged 15 and under

Award categories:
- 6 years and under
- 7 to 11 years
- 12 to 15 years

Each age category will have a winner and a runner‑up, with prizes awarded in every category.

Hand in your artwork to any Buckinghamshire Library before 1 August 2026.

Winners will be notified by Saturday 15 August 2026, with the Exhibition Opening on Saturday 22 August 2026.

Libraries offering Library Flex will operate from 8am-8pm with access using your Library Flex membership only. You can find your nearest Library Flex library here: bit.ly/LibraryFlex

Burnham, Bourne End, Gerrards Cross, High Wycombe, Iver Heath, Micklefield, Wendover and Winslow libraries will be closed.
