👮 University Soroptimist Conference 👮
This Saturday Sergeant Neal and PCSOs from the Wycombe Neighbourhood Team attending Buckinghamshire New University to network and conduct a panel with Soroptimists and guest speakers on how we can improve womens safety in the public spaces. It was amazing to hear so many empowering stories and how we can all work together to combat violence against women and girls, especially in the lead up to White Ribbon. Yesterday we were made aware that a van had been left with the engine running for most of the day with no sign of an owner.
Your local neighbourhood officers deployed to do some checks and try locate an owner. 👀
To their surprise when they opened the back door they found 21 boxes of N20 (NOS) which contained individual 126 cannisters.

One rather silly driver leaving their van unsecure was a costly mistake for them
One uninsured and untaxed van off the streets and around £1400 of nos as well.

CONCERNS OVER CHARITY COLLECTORS IN MARLOW

Marlow NHPT were made aware of concerns about individuals collecting money in West Street today.

An officer attended and liaising with colleagues at Bucks Council Licensing, provided advice regarding the necessary permissions required for street collections. As a result, the individuals concerned left the location.

Whilst enforcement of licensing requirements sits outside of police powers in these circumstances, we have taken appropriate action to address community concerns and worked to ensure the matter was resolved promptly.

Last night we held another Walk for Women at The Rye and it was a huge success! Nearly 20 of us walked & talked about women's safety, our experiences in Wycombe and life in general.

We do these walks to give women & girls a chance to talk to officers in confidence about Violence Against Women & Girls, but also to have the opportunity to get out and enjoy the outdoors and some exercise in a safe space.

🎭 Impersonation fraud isn't sophisticated technology. It's criminals pretending to be someone you trust.

After posing as bank staff and targeting two women in their 80s, Hamza Mohammed, aged 30, of Aysgarth Road, Leicester, used their bank cards to withdraw cash and buy high-value goods.

Remember: never share your PIN and never hand your bank cards to anyone claiming to be from your bank.

If you receive a suspicious call, end the call and use a different telephone if possible, or wait several minutes before calling your bank using a trusted number.

If in doubt, speak to a trusted family member or friend before taking any action.

Walk for Women is TOMORROW!!

📆 Thursday 15th October
⏰ 6-7pm
📍 meeting at the usual place in front of the Lido.

If you're female, local to High Wycombe, and would like to chat to officers about women's safety or find out about what we are doing to tackle violence against women & girls, please join us. Or if you'd just like to get out and enjoy our town's green spaces in the safety of a group, you're very welcome too.

Please ensure under 18s are accompanied by an adult, and 4-legged friends are of course encouraged 🐶 We look forward to seeing you tomorrow
