Good news for Burnham: from Monday, the minor injuries unit is open 7 days a week again.

After a summer of short-notice closures caused by staff shortages, the MIU at Burnham War Memorial Hospital returns to full hours from Monday 5 October, 10am to 6pm (last patient in at 5.30pm).

Symphony Healthcare, owned by Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, takes over, and the trust says those staff won't be moved to other units.

Local people pushed hard to keep the MIU at the hospital, and it stays there. It treats cuts, sprains, strains and minor burns. Unsure where to go? Use NHS 111. In an emergency, always call 999.

Share this so your neighbours know it's back.
