Burbage Beat Update 🚓

🏡 Over recent days, we have been busy completing work relating to the theft of a couple of cars in the area, where suspects have entered the property to get car keys. We have supported residents with crime reduction items such as window alarms and RFID wallets. In addition to this, we have been completing targeted patrols and CCTV work.

🌳 Patrols are also ongoing around local parks such as Tilton Road and Rugby Road Park, Brookside, Church Street and the Three Pots area, in response to recent reports and local concerns raised such as off-road bikes, general vehicle related anti-social behaviour and suspicious activity.

🧒🏻 Other work over the week includes a crime reduction event at the Burbage Congregational Church fete ⛪ and a visit to Kids Planet where we discussed road safety⛔ , and the kids had lots of fun with the Police uniform and stickers.

👮‍♂️ Community Engagement at Clarendon Park Fair 👮‍♀️

PCSO 6593 Needham and PCSO 6651 Pugh had a fantastic time attending the Clarendon Park Fair in Hinckley today.

It was great to meet so many members of the local community, chat with residents, answer questions, and engage with families enjoying the event.

Community events like these provide a valuable opportunity for us to strengthen relationships, listen to local concerns, and promote safety awareness in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We are proud to serve our community and look forward to attending more local events in the future.

If you see us out and about, please don't hesitate to come over for a chat.

Crime levels remain steady, though recent warm weather has led to an increase in demand, particularly around domestic incidents, neighbour disputes, and ASB.

Following a reported assault on a female on the footpath from Asda through the cemetery in Hinckley, a suspect has been arrested and is on bail with conditions not to enter Leicestershire. The investigation is ongoing.

We understand this may cause concern, but please be reassured that high-visibility patrols have been in place since the incident and will continue.
Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in this area. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our community safe.

Once again S/Sgt Tom and SC Tom have been crewed together for high visibility anti-social behaviour patrols across the Hinckley and Blaby area this evening.

We have spent time carrying out enquiries into a spike in reports of street racing and vehicle related anti-social behaviour over the weekend. This has included reviewing CCTV to identify offenders and visiting reporting parties to gather further details.

We have also completed intelligence led patrols across the NPA, conducted numerous vehicle stop checks and visited several businesses affected by ongoing ASB.

As Special Constables, we are in a unique position to provide additional police officer support to our NPA while also helping to address community priorities at times when your usual beat officers may be off duty or committed elsewhere. Since the beginning of 2026, a weekly ASB patrol car staffed solely by Special Constables has been supporting Op Spinner, focusing on tackling road related ASB and strengthening our wider road safety work.

This Volunteers’ Week, as the Special Sergeant for the area, I want to thank the Hinckley and Blaby Special Constabulary for their continued commitment and dedication to supporting their local community, even after completing a full day at work.

Leicestershire Police is recruiting for a 2027 cohort of Special Constables, take a look at our recruitment website to find out more!

Bikers Beware 🏍️ 👀

Take a look at the below warning from PCSO Mike from North West Leicestershire Police regarding bike theft. With regular bike meets at Stoney Cove and Triumph on the Hinckley and Blaby NPA, riders are encouraged to stay vigilant.

Please stay aware of who is around your bike, check it regularly and ask a trusted friend to keep an eye out if leaving it unattended.

Report any suspicious behaviour or incidents to Leicestershire Police.

S/Sgt Tom 👮‍♂️

🏍️ 🚨 Bikers Beware 🚨🏍️

It's come to our attention that thieves are attending bike events, such as bike nights, and placing tracking devices on unattended motorbikes.

These devices allow offenders to locate where bikes are kept and later steal them.

Please stay alert and aware of who is around your bike.

Regularly check your bike for anything unusual or out of place.

There is software you can get which alerts you when you are near a tracker.

If you attend a bike night, try to park where you can clearly see your bike at all times.

Most importantly, remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour around your bike or others.

Together, we can help prevent motorbike theft in our community.

Good Afternoon Earl Shilton and Barwell,

We recently attended a beat surgery in Earl Shilton, giving us the opportunity to speak with local residents in a relaxed and friendly setting.

During the session, concerns were raised about:
🚗 Speeding vehicles in the area
🚫 Drug use within the community

These issues have been noted and will be considered as part of our ongoing neighbourhood policing work 🔍

We also shared crime prevention advice and provided a range of leaflets covering topics such as personal safety, scams, and home security 🔐

Thank you to everyone who came along to chat with us – your feedback is invaluable and helps us focus on what matters most to you.

Keep an eye on our page for upcoming beat surgeries and community events.

Burbage Update 🗞️

We hope you are keeping well and enjoying the bit of sun whilst it lasts 🌞

We have received a few reports over recent days of suspicious activity❓ in the area so please be mindful around your home security. Whilst we will all be having windows and doors open during the hot weather, Please be mindful not to leave easy to access windows open if you are going out (popping to the shops or going to work). Also consider which windows and doors are open and unlocked if you are spending a lot of time in the back garden🏡 . You never know who is about and what their intentions are.

It can take seconds for someone to enter your property and leave without you knowing. Items such as jewellery⌚ and cash are often targeted in these types of crime, so please do not leave them lying about or stored in easy or obvious locations for someone to find.

If you have elderly or vulnerable relatives👵🏻 , please support them by reducing the risk of them becoming a target.

We have been completing patrols🚓 around the East Close area, Canberra Way, Tilton Road Park and other areas of Burbage. These targeted patrols are in response to feedback and calls from residents due to incidents such as vehicle related anti-social behaviour (motorbikes/quad bikes). We have also been working on increased reports of neighbour disputes and youth related anti-social behaviour. We have also been supporting residents with crime reduction items such as window alarms and RFID car wallets.
