An early start to a hot Bank Holiday Monday for Staithes CRT.
At 00:11, the team were tasked to search for a missing person believed to be somewhere between Staithes and Sandsend.
We were joined by Whitby Coastguard Redcar Coastguard Rescue Team Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team North Yorkshire Policeshire Police, and NPAS 73 (Police Helicopter).
Search teams were rapidly deployed, including a police search dog, while NPAS searched from the air.
The person was subsequently located.
All services were stood down at 04:10, just as the sun began to rise.
This incident was an excellent example of multi-agency collaboration โ well done to all involved.
Since then, after only a few hoursโ sleep, we have attended a second incident in Redcar.
With hot weather predicted for the coming days, we ask everyone to stay hydrated, use sunscreen, and take care near the coastline and cliffs.
๐จIf you see somebody in difficulty along the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.๐จ
