In March, a television production company visited Hitchin and spoke with a number of our students after school as part of a new BBC One documentary with Sir Gareth Southgate, looking at what life is like for young men.

Gareth Southgate: Changing the Game for Young Men will be broadcast on BBC One at 9pm on 8 June and will also be available on iPlayer. You may spot some familiar faces! More information about the documentary can be found here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/2026/gareth-southgate-changing-game-for-young-men

Cardiff Productions have asked us to pass on their thanks to the students, staff and parents who supported the project and contributed to the discussion around young men’s experiences and perspectives.

And just like that, our Year 13s have left us. 👋🏻

What an incredible year group this has been and they have definitely gone out with a bang. Challenged with coming in as something beginning with their first initial, they did not disappoint. We wish them all the luck with their exams and life in the big wide world! 🎓
