🌿 Introducing the Hitchin Fire Station Biodiversity Garden 🌿
We’re excited to launch a brand-new project here at Hitchin Fire Station — the creation of a Biodiversity and Mental Health Garden, built by the community, for the community. 💚
This special space will serve two powerful purposes:
🌱 A natural refuge where firefighters from across the local area can pause, reflect, and reconnect with nature — supporting their mental wellbeing after the challenging scenes they often face.
🌻 A biodiverse, environmentally friendly garden, created using recycled and sustainable materials, promoting wildlife and showcasing how green spaces can make a real difference — both for people and the planet.
But we can’t do it alone.
We’re calling on the local community, groups, and businesses to get involved:
🔨 Can you donate materials, time, or expertise?
🌼 Do you want to help shape or leave your mark on the space?
💷 Can you support the project with a donation or sponsorship?
Firefighters are proud to have lived and served in this community for many years — now we’re inviting you to help build a place that supports their health and healing, and becomes a shared legacy we all take pride in.
Together, let’s grow something meaningful. 🌿💙
