Hoddesdon Library Local library in Hoddesdon Donate to Hertfordshire Libraries

It’s now easy to donate online to the library service by visiting our website.

We are often offered donations of money by users who wish to show their appreciation for the service. Those who visit the library are able to do this in person. Now you can also support the library service by donating online. You don't have to donate. Hertfordshire Libraries are a universal and free service to the community. Your decision to donate is an entirely voluntary one. We ask that you don

ate only as much as you feel comfortable with. You may want to consider either a one-off payment or more frequently.

100% of each donation goes directly to Hertfordshire Libraries and is used to maintain and enhance our services. https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/librarydonations

Here's what Jimi had to say about Caro Claire Burke's new novel Yesteryear:

"I don't want to give anything away about this book - I started reading it knowing only that it's a novel that's got a lot of people talking, and I'm so glad I hadn't been told anything about it because it really surprised and hooked me! I was intrigued and fascinated to see how it would all end..."

It's National Biscuit Day - celebrate this momentous, delicious day by treating yourself to a pack of biccies from your local shop or why not make your own? We have plenty of baking books for you to be inspired by!

What's your favourite biscuit? Where do you stand on the Great Jaffa Cake debate: is it a cake or a biscuit? If there was a cake/biscuit version of Star Wars, would there be a character called Jaffa the Hutt? 🍪

This Explore Your Archives (History Month) we had a magnificent Monsters, Magic and Mayhem event this Tuesday at Hoddesdon Library! The children created spells and potions using a range of fantastic ingredients, wrote secret letters in lemon juice and designed a dragon, all whilst learning a little about the history behind these activities. A great time was had by all! Big thanks to HALS (Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies) for running the session.

We have plenty more activities coming up and if you and your children want to take part in our next Family Fun event, then book a place for our Fabulous Festival craft session on Saturday 20th June (11am-12pm) where you can get messy with glitter and feathers and make your own amazing headdress!
