👑✨ A Royally Good Week in Preschool! ✨👑

The preschool has been buzzing with excitement this week as our little learners celebrated The King's Birthday! Through a mix of play, creativity, and exploration, the children have had a wonderful time learning all about the royal family.

🇬🇧🎉Here is what our little kings, queens, princes, and princesses got up to:

🎨Expressive Arts & Design: We crafted and decorated our own magnificent crowns using loose parts like sequins, jewels, and beads!
🫖Communication & Language: The children loved a messy royal tea party!
🏰Understanding the World: We created different castles using magnatiles and paint.

✏️Lying on the back and reaching upward strengthens the stomach, neck, and shoulder muscles.
🖍️Working against gravity builds the wrist and finger strength needed for writing.
✍️Changing the writing surface from a flat desk to an unusual spot sparks high engagement and creativity.

June is Save the Ocean Month this is a special time when we learn how to take care of our big blue seas and the amazing animals that live in them.

3 Simple "Ocean Superhero" Rules we have been learning:

🗑️Put rubbish in the bin so the wind can't blow it into the water.
🥤Use a refillable water bottle instead of single-use plastic ones.
💧Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth to save water for the fish.

Dance in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) targets gross motor skills, coordination, and creative expression. Dance teaches children to control body movements, build spatial awareness, and respond to rhythm. We took the opportunity to dance outside in the sun this afternoon. 🪩💃🕺☀️

🫧 More Than Just Fun: The Magic of Bubble Play in EYFS! 🫧

Have you ever noticed how a simple pot of bubbles can instantly captivate a whole room of children? In Early Years, bubbles are basically magic wands for learning and development!While children think they are just playing, they are actually building crucial skills across the EYFS framework.

Here is how bubble play supports our little learners:
🗣️ Communication & Language great for teaching descriptive words (float, pop, shiny, high, low).
🏃 Physical Development great for chasing, jumping, stretching, and stomping to pop bubbles builds muscle tone, balance, and spatial awareness.
🧠 Personal, Social & Emotional Development great for collaborative play sharing wands, taking turns, and popping bubbles together builds early social skills and teamwork.
🔢 Mathematics & Science great for counting how many bubbles we can pop before they hit the ground, or comparing sizes (big, small, giant).
🌍Understanding the World great for introducing early science concepts like gravity, wind direction, and cause-and-effect ("If I touch it, it pops!").
