The Civic, Holmfirth , has always been a building for local people, and now there’s an opportunity to help shape what comes next.
Holmfirth Civic Hall Community Trust, in partnership with Holme Valley Parish Council, is launching a public consultation on early ideas for the future redevelopment of The Civic.

Come along to hear more about the project, see the initial ideas, and find out how you can share your views.

Art Week – Temporary Office Closure 26 June to 13 July 2026

Holmfirth’s annual Art Week exhibition will be hosted at the Civic from 5th July to 11th July 2026

To make way for all the fabulous local talent, the Parish Council Office will be temporarily closed from 26th June to 13th July 2026.

Staff will be working from home during this time and will be contactable via email.

The office will be open again as usual from 14th July 2026.

HVPC Planning Steering Group 29th June 2026 7pm

Below is a link to the agenda and papers for the Parish Council's Planning Steering Group on Monday of next week.
If local people want to comment on any aspect of the agenda they can:

1) email the Assistant Clerk with a report before 2pm Monday 29th June 2026 and we'll read it out.
2) attend the meeting via zoom and comment in the public session at the start of the meeting.

The Parish Council is a consultee on planning applications in the Holme Valley, but Kirklees Council is the ultimate decision-maker.

Due to a temporary closure of the Civic on 23 June 2026, the Parish Council will be closed to the public from 11am on 23 June 2026. Staff will be in the building at this time but visits are by appointment only.
