Free Bike Safety Check with Dr Bike, Thursday 21st May 10-3

The experienced and friendly mechanic will put your bike through a safety check to highlight any current or near future concerns. Small adjustments can also be made, but it is not intended as a replacement to servicing or repair. Feel free to ask the mechanics to show you what they are doing, and talk you through any adjustments they make. This is a perfect chance to have that niggling sound diagnosed or ask any questions you might have to get you cycling safely. Each free slot is 30 minutes long.

👩‍☕Our next Gardening Cuppa & Chat session is Wednesday 13th May, 2pm-3pm. There's so much going on in the garden at this time of year, so lots to talk about!
🌱Maybe some of you have some seedlings that need passing on or some questions to ask?
🍰Looking forward to lots of chat over a cuppa and cake!

Can you help us share the books everyone wants to read this month? 📚

There’s high demand for our 10 most wanted titles, and many eager customers are waiting to borrow them. We’ve purchased as many copies as our budget allows, but if you’re able to help, we’d be truly grateful.

If you have a pristine copy, you’ve finished reading - whether it’s one you bought yourself or received as a gift - you can donate it at any library in Devon or Torbay. We’ll add it to our collection to help reduce the waiting list.

Thank you so much for your support! 💚

Our ten most popular titles this month are:
1. Last One Out by Jane Harper
2. Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke
3. A Deadly Episode by Anthony Horowitz
4. The Things We Never Say by Elizabeth Strout
5. The Names by Florence Knapp
6. A Far-flung Life by M.L. Stedman
7. Hope Rises by David Baldacci
8. Enough Said by Alan Bennett
9. Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
10. When The Cranes Fly South by Lisa Ridzén

Staff Pick!

Oranges are not the only fruit by Jeanette Winterson

This was my first experience of Autofiction and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Jeanette uses experiences from her own upbringing to write the “coming of age” novel on a protagonist of the same name. Oranges navigates the difficulties of growing up in an English Pentecoastal community whilst also coming to terms with a sexual orientation that doesn’t sit right with the community’s faith.
