Swtan - Restored Welsh cottage

Swtan (prounced Su-tan) is a fully restored example of a 17th century Welsh cottage with a thatched roof.

It is situated on the beautiful north west coast of Anglesey, in the picturesque village of Church Bay (Porth Swtan).

A lovely day at Swtan yesterday - the cottage had been decorated with evergreen foliage by Llinos Edwards - we all enjoyed the refreshments, tea, coffee, mulled wine, bara brith and mince pies - but the icing on the cake was the entertainment by Meryl Elin ( Country Singer Amlwch) who entertained us with new and classical songs, giving us a taste of Christmas spirits. Thank you to all who came to support us.

Well - dyma Tymor yr Hâf 2025 wedi dod ar ben yn Swtan. Bydd y Bwthyn ar gau yn awr dros y misoedd nesaf tan Pasg 2026. Byddwn yn agor i Grwpiau amrywiol ac Ysgolion, ond mae rhaid bwcio o flaen llaw. ( gweler ein Safwe - Swtan). Diolch o galon i pawb am bob cefnogaeth - cawsom dymor prysur a llwyddiannus. Diolch am eich cefnogaeth.

Time certainly does fly, and we’ve reached the end of our 2025 opening Season at Swtan. The doors are now closed until Easter 2026. We will still open for pre-booked groups and Schools ( contact details on our Website - Swtan). Many thanks to everyone who supported us in various ways - we had a busy and successful season. Thank you all.

Cawsom brynhawn braf iawn yn Swtan yn gwylio Crefftwr wrth ei waith. Diolch Duncan.
We had a lovely afternoon at Swtan today watching a Craftsman at work. Many thanks to Chainsaw Carvings By Duncan Kitson for an interesting display.
