There will also be an abnormal load travelling along the A47 on Sunday the 8th of March. Please see information received via email below.
Abnormal Load Movements
Our transformer installation activities involve the transportation of abnormal loads, meaning they are either larger, heavier, or wider than what can be transported on a standard vehicle. These will be passing through or in proximity to your local area, starting in the Port of Kings Lynn, Norfolk, and travelling to our Onshore Converter Station in Swardeston, Norfolk, as shown on the map below.
About the Transformer movements
A total of nine transformer movements will take place, and each unit will be transported on a 28-axle girder frame trailer, capable of carrying loads up to 350 tonnes. The trailer will reach a maximum length of 85 metres, a width of 5.4 metres and a height of 5.2 metres. Due to these abnormal dimensions, the convoy will travel under full police es**rt and at a strictly limited speed of no more than 12mph, in accordance with National Highways Special Order legislation. Movements are further restricted to daytime on Sundays only, which helps reduce traffic impact and maintain safe operating conditions.
