Speedwell Cavern Descend 106 steps to an underground canal. Take a boat trip to visit the “Bottomless Pit” – a huge subterranean lake. Guided tours leave every 20 minutes.

Set at the foot of the spectacular Winnats Pass , high above the village of Castleton, Speedwell Cavern takes you on an incredible underground boat journey. Descend the 106 steps to the landing stage of an underground canal. Take the boat trip through the 200 year old lead mine, to visit the “Bottomless Pit” – a huge subterranean lake. Open every day except Christmas Day from 10am - 4pm.
