🚨🚨CALL OUT🚨🚨 29/05/26 1243

Today, Hornsea Inshore Rescue were tasked to 2 people in difficulty whilst swimming between the groins near our launch beach.

Thankfully, the casualties in the water managed to get to safety as Crew were arriving and we were stood down by HM Coastguard.

Two of our casualty care team attended to the casualties on the beach to check them over and was happy that no further medical attention was necessary.

Please always make sure soneone has eyes on you whilst in the water, use a tow float and high visibility swimwear, and If you get into difficulty, don't panic, float to live, raise the alarm by shouting for help.

Or If you see someone in the water in difficulty, call 999 immediately and ask for the Coastguard.

We had an unexpected visitor today at Hornsea Inshore Rescue.......

Lee Robinson and his team are doing a "channel to coast" run on a stand-up jetski, raising money for Alzheimers and MS charities. He'll cover a distance of approximately 2300 nautical miles and will take around 3-4 weeks to complete.

Lee arrived at Hornsea this morning riding the ski, with his team in a camper van, van and trailer on route to his final destination for today at Scarborough, hoping to refuel at Bridlington, however due to rougher conditions today needed to fuel earlier than expected.

Once we knew what was happening, we were more than happy to offer our assistance and hook the trailer up to the tractor to bring Lee ashore, so that he could get a break and well earned drink, which our cafe gladly supplied to him free of charge.

It was great chatting to Lee and his team about the challenge and the story behind it.

You can follow their progress at www.channeltocoast.co.uk

Pictured is launch master Carl, with Lee and his stand up Ski.

Good luck on your challenge Lee, from all at Hornsea Inshore Rescue .
