⭐The Gruffalo & Paw Patrol are coming to GuilFest!⭐

We’re really excited that Chase from Paw Patrol and The Gruffalo are coming to GuilFest! Chase from Paw Patrol will be at GuilFest on Saturday, 4th July 2026 and The Gruffalo on Sunday, 5th July 2026, we can’t wait for the fun to begin!🌟

Join us for meet and greet sessions throughout the day - the perfect chance for kids to meet their favourite characters! Plus, there’s fun for everyone, there will be workshops and interactive sessions running throughout the weekend, these will include:

- Kidzone: An amazing kids play area with theatre productions of famous stories and tales, hilarious clowns, breath-taking fire shows, amazing acrobats, circus skills (juggling, diablo and aerial hoop activities) plus lots of kids rides and a huge Big Wheel.

- Gamers Lounge: Play retro computer games on the original consoles: Space Invaders, Sonic, Street Fighter, Super Mario, Zelda, Mario Cart, Donkey Kong, Virtua Racing, Crash Bandicoot and Fifa.

- Bushcraft: Get involved with various workshops and demonstrations including fire lighting, shelter building, Bow & Arrow, Willow hurdle and basket making.

- Huge climbing tower with multiple routes to suit all abilities.

- Art and Craft workshops with Guildford Festival of the Arts: creating festival attire like friendship bracelets and flower crowns.

- Strange Old Things Mobile Museum: Exhibiting an array of artifacts and costumes from the long gone past and a collection of Medieval weapons, with demonstrations and workshops you can interact with.

- Vintage Library Bus: Relax here with interesting books, giant Jenga, table football and all sorts of board games.

GuilFest takes place on Saturday, 4th July and Sunday, 5th July at Stoke Park in Guildford. Tickets sold out last year, we’d hate for you to miss out, so secure your tickets now before they sell out! Just remember under 5s are free when accompanied by a paying adult.

⭐ Another Successful International Repatriation ⭐

Receiving feedback like this reminds us exactly why we do what we do.

Last week, our team had the privilege of repatriating a patient from Paris back to Cumbria following a difficult and stressful period for both her and her family. Understandably, the journey was a daunting prospect, but our crew were committed to ensuring she felt safe, comfortable, and supported every step of the way.

We were incredibly humbled to receive the following feedback from the family:

"From the moment you walked into her room in Paris, we both felt an enormous sense of relief that the nightmare of the last ten days was coming to an end and that we were in very safe and professional hands. I really can’t express our thanks to you all more strongly, we shall always be grateful for what you did for us last Monday."

A huge well done to Marcus, Chris, Bill, Kim and James for delivering the exceptional care, compassion, and professionalism that our patients deserve. Special recognition to Kim for ensuring a smooth handover at Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle during the early hours of the morning.

At ALS, we understand that a repatriation is far more than just a journey. It is about providing reassurance, dignity, clinical excellence, and compassionate care when people need it most.

Thank you to the family for allowing us to be part of their journey and for their incredibly kind words. We wish Frances a continued recovery and all the very best as she progresses with her rehabilitation.

⚠️ Signs & Symptoms of Heat Exhaustion / Heat Stroke ⚠️

• Dizziness or fainting
• Headache
• Feeling sick or vomiting
• Excessive sweating or very hot skin
• Muscle cramps
• Fast breathing or rapid pulse
• Confusion or difficulty speaking
• High temperature
• Tiredness or weakness

🚨 Heat stroke is a medical emergency. If someone becomes confused, stops sweating, has a seizure, or loses consciousness, call 999 immediately.
