We want your views to help shape a greener, more resilient future for our county.

We're working with district and borough councils on plans to reduce the amount of carbon which is produced and released into the atmosphere in West Sussex, and ways to help us prepare for the increasing impacts of a changing climate.

What more can we say than a truly heartfelt thank you to the Friends of Warnham Local Nature Reserve

The Reserve simply would not and could not be what it is without their dedication, hard work and financial support.

This is an amazing milestone and we look forward to continuing to work together in the future. โœจ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’š

A few words from our Chairman Stuart Riley.

The Friends of Warnham Local Nature Reserve gather round a cheque to celebrate achieving the milestone of raising ยฃ250,000 for the maintenance and development of the Reserve from 2017 to date.

Pete Crawford (Parks and Countryside Manager, Horsham District Council) was present to acknowledge the achievement after which we enjoyed our annual volunteers BBQ.

The Friendsโ€™ Charity could not continue without the tireless work of all the volunteers and the support of the HDC Countryside Warden team.

My thanks go to all involved for their efforts and achievements on behalf of the Friends and the Reserve.

This weekend our visitors were treated to amazing views and insights into the lives of some fantastic birds, at the bird ringing demonstration by licensed bird ringer, Jake Everitt.

The data collected at these events provides vital information for bird conservation. Many birds have already started their autumn migration and this was highlighted by the presence of Grasshopper, Sedge, Whitethroat, Willow and Garden Warblers alongside many Blackcap Warblers.
Blue and Great T**s, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Wren, Robin and Dunnock were ringed. ๐Ÿ’š

Last night as the Horsham Green Spaces group held their meeting at the Reserve, they were lucky enough to see the beautiful double rainbow over the millpond.

It was captured by our Parks and Countryside Manager, Pete and we couldn't resist sharing the pics to brighten up a Wednesday morning. ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ’š Thank You to Our Incredible Volunteers ๐Ÿ’š

This Volunteer Week, we want to send a huge thanks and appreciation to everyone who helps care for our parks and green spaces.

From our regular volunteers and occasional helpers to our corporate groups and behind-the-scenes heroes โ€” weโ€™ve said it before and weโ€™ll say it again, we simply couldnโ€™t do it without you.

Weโ€™ve shared just a small snapshot of some of the fantastic work taking place, but to every volunteer: please know that Horsham District is a greener, more vibrant place because of your hard work, dedication and commitment.

Thank you for everything you do ๐Ÿ’š

We and the Friends of Warnham Local Nature Reserve are delighted to announce that the new boardwalk is now open and looking amazing.

It's been a long process and the winter weather was certainly sent to try us, but we would like to say a massive thank you to Gary Collier and his team for their hard work and perseverance.

We will be posting more about the project in the coming weeks, but for now we are just pleased to say it is open for all our visitors to enjoy. ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜
