👢🎶 GET READY TO DANCE! 🎶👢

One of the many exciting activities taking place at our Big Lunch Event is the chance to get involved in some fantastic Line Dancing! Whether you're a seasoned dancer or giving it a go for the very first time, everyone is welcome to join in and have some fun.

Our Wellness Tent will be packed with activities designed to help you relax, recharge, and try something new, including:

🧘 Mindfulness
🌿 Meditation
👢 Line Dancing
✨ Plus lots of other wellbeing and wellness activities throughout the day!

Meanwhile, our main stage will be buzzing with entertainment, featuring:

🎭 David Farn as Owen Brecon, Wales' Greatest Nature Poet 1984
🌟 Stage Door Academy of Performing Arts

One of the best parts of our BIG LUNCH EVENT on Saturday 6th June is the incredible food on offer! 😍

We’re so excited to have some amazing local organisations bringing delicious treats for everyone to enjoy:

🧁 Local charity Space 4 will be serving up a fantastic selection of homemade cakes and bakes
🥐 Star Community Learning CIC will have a tasty range of pastries available
🍛 NamasteNima will be offering beautiful homemade curries packed with flavour
🌭 Plus FREE hot dogs for kids! Provided by Houghton Le Spring Residents CIC

From sweet treats to savoury favourites and flavours from around the world, there’ll be something to tempt everyone’s taste buds! 🌎✨

Bring a picnic blanket, enjoy the atmosphere, and come support these brilliant local community organisations while enjoying some amazing food.

Last week saw the final two sessions of our “Shake Off Winter” HAF Programme!

We all had a lovely time joining in with various activities including:
- games in the park 🛝
- hide and seek in the woods 🌳
- virtual reality scenarios thanks to Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner (Northumbria VRU) 👾
- board games 🎲
- and lots, lots more! ✨

Needed to drop a HUGE thank you to the team who helped us clean up Rectory Park last Saturday. We had a lovely member of the community who turned up to lend a hand! Most of all I wanted to thank our AMAZING young people who made up by far the most numbers of attendants and managed to fill up eight bags of rubbish. We honestly couldn't be more proud of them and I can honestly say without them we wouldn't have been able to do it! Huge well done guys!

Day one down of the two day pitter pick! Huge thank you, Donna at Houghton-le-Spring residents for the soup, The Tuesday Treckers, Kepier Trust and King's Trust for all of their amazing work and helping us bring in 23 bags of rubbish 2 footballs, four gas canisters, a suitcase and several pairs of ladies tights.
