Are you concerned about a child who may be missing education?

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility and the cost of not identifying that a child is missing education or notifying the appropriate professionals and responding quickly can be very high.

All children, regardless of their circumstances, are entitled to full-time education. This should be suitable to their age, ability, aptitude, and any special educational needs they may have.

Due to vehicle breakdowns, we were unfortunately unable to complete collections from the following roads on Wednesday last week:

• Belmont Road
• Belmont Terrace
• Bridge Street
• Clifton Gardens
• Essex Road
• Homefield Road
• Horticultural Place
• Mills Row

Despite our efforts to complete these outstanding collections, we have unfortunately been unable to do so. These properties will now receive their next collection on their usual scheduled collection day this Wednesday.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and thank residents for their patience and understanding while we continue working hard to minimise disruption.

Are you interested in starting your creative business? If you're a current Learn Hounslow students, take your first step selling your products at the Design and Made in Hounslow market this summer 🧁🖼️🪆

The market will take place at Bell Square on Hounslow High Street from 11am to 3pm on Wednesday, 8 July.

Some courses in June and July are designed to help learners joining the market. These include cake baking and decoration, as well as skills in pricing, promotion and branding.

Hounslow has around 19,000 unpaid carers supporting loved ones, friends, or neighbours. Carers Week, from 8-14 June, is a chance to celebrate these selfless individuals and the people they care for with daily events offering respite, the chance to learn something new and the opportunity to meet fellow carers.

Our friends at Lampton Leisure are also offering unpaid carers a FREE 3-day pass to use at any of their sites in Hounslow: https://www.lamptonleisure.co.uk/your-free-three-day-wellbeing-pass-for-carers-week-with-the-london-borough-of-hounslow-council/

Meanwhile, attendees can receive 100 BetterPoints for coming along to Carers Week events. These can be exchanged for high street and Amazon vouchers. Anyone can download the app for free.

All professionals, unpaid carers and anyone interested in learning about support for unpaid carers are welcome to attend Carers Week Events.

Do you need help with your job search? Find us in Hounslow, Brentford and Feltham in June.

If you're aged 18 and above, unemployed, not in education or training, you can drop by Community Hub and Libraries for a quick 15-20 minute chat. These sessions are also available for those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), those who have experienced care and have been involved in the Youth Justice System.
