We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who was part of our 80th Birthday celebrations last weekend! Wow, what a day! 💚

This was an incredible celebration of everything Mencap in Kirklees has achieved in their 80 years. 🎂 A look back at past achievements and an acknowledgement of the present and future, marked by congratulating and celebrating those who have made significant achievements this year!

The day consisted of pride, laughter, awards, delicious food, a wonderful atmosphere, fundraising and excellent entertainment!

Our awards highlighted the selfless, caring and dedicated contributions of so many people in the Mencap in Kirklees community. From carers to support workers, volunteers, trustees and everyone in between — we really are so lucky to have this community!

We're always keen to welcome new trustees to our Board, but right now we're putting out an active call for anyone who would like to become more involved with Mencap in Kirklees — and this is one of the best ways to do it.

The time commitment is less than you might think. It's just a few hours each month, with meetings held online, but you could make a huge difference to our charity and the people we support.

We'd especially love to hear from you if you have:

• A background in Finance or HR

or

• Lived experience as a family carer
