Area and Neighbourhood Working in Kirklees

Area and Neighbourhood Working in Kirklees Area and Neighbourhood Working in Kirklees - Area and Neighbourhood Action Team This approach is being overseen by the six Area Committees. The roles are varied.

We area a team that works closely with councillors to develop a progressive approach to area and neighbourhood working in Kirklees. We work across communities with all councillors, services and partners but with additional focus in priority neighbourhoods. We will support councillors and services to identify key priorities and tackle inequalities. We will improve service delivery through identifyi

ng the needs and aspirations of local communities and the joining up of community priorities and partner activities. What responsibilities does the team have? They will provide governance support to the six Area committees and support local councillors across the 23 wards. One of their first tasks will be to produce, where appropriate, mini neighbourhood action plans. These plans will outline, initially. a range of local intelligence from councillors, services and communities which will help identify priorities to be addressed. These plans will evolve over time to reflect the changing needs of communities. In some priority neighbourhoods there will be targeted interventions to reduce inequalities where there is a larger issue. Joined up work will be encouraged through "virtual teams". These will bring partners together to work more closely at a local level. All these neighbourhood plans will be integrated into the area plans, which will be developed through the six Area Committees

It’s important because it affects all of us. The Kirklees Democracy Commission are working with our citizens and others to take a health check on our local democracy. We’d like you to be part of helping to design a strong and healthy local democracy in Kirklees, for the next generation and beyond. [ 184 more words. ]
