Community Partnerships Kirklees

Community Partnerships Kirklees Community Partnerships provide funding and development support to organisations which support people who have health and social care needs.

The team is very much focussed around ensuring that people can get out and about in their community and feel supported close to home. The majority of the funding goes to organisations that support people in a preventative way, people who are still quite active, but who just need a little help to remain independent. The team supports both smaller and larger organisations and tailors the support and

advice provided to each individual organisation. All organisations are encouraged to be as independent as possible and to generate income in various ways such as making a charge for each session, doing fund raising activities and applying for funding from other sources such as the Lottery. Decisions are made by a weekly panel for applications up to £10,000 per year. Decisions for applications over £10,000 per year are made at 8 weekly panels. The panels consist of representatives from Adult Social Care services, Children’s Social Care services, Public Health and NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups. The funding comes from both Council (Social Care) budgets and the two NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups – North Kirklees and Greater Huddersfield. The grant programme is run as an integrated approach to prevention funding across Kirklees. It is intended to make it easier for organisations to access funding and ensure best value.
