Part of our current “Edges & Echoes” exhibition at the Humbie Hub, Rosemary Everett creates beautifully detailed artist’s books using printmaking techniques alongside upcycled and vintage materials including maps, nautical charts and packaging.

Her work combines collagraphy, wood engraving, lino cuts and Letterpress to create sculptural paper pieces that are designed to be explored and experienced.

Inspired by rivers, lakes, the sea and Scotland’s unique colours and light, Rosemary’s work explores our connection to “blue spaces” and the sense of wellbeing they can bring.

You can view Rosemary’s work as part of the exhibition in the Hub café until 14th June.

If you’re out exploring East Lothian over the next few weeks, the Humbie Hub is a lovely place to stop for coffee, lunch or a browse around.

We’ve got the café, village shop and post office all under one roof, plus local artwork on display and plenty of space to sit and relax for a while.

There’s also a garden out the back with picnic benches and countryside views, which comes into its own when the weather behaves itself.

We’re delighted to be showcasing the work of Scottish illustrator and designer Emily Hogarth as part of the current “Edges & Echoes” exhibition at the Humbie Hub.

Emily is known for her intricate papercut artwork inspired by the Scottish landscape, wildlife and flora. Her work combines bold shapes with delicate detail, capturing what she describes as “making the everyday magical”.

Alongside her own artwork, Emily has worked with well-known brands and organisations including The National Museum of Scotland, Nivea, Cadbury’s and Lloyds Bank.

You can see Emily’s work in the Hub café as part of the exhibition until 14th June.

As part of our current “Edges & Echoes” exhibition, we are showcasing the work of Fiona McDougall of Wilderframe.
Inspired by traditional herbaria and Victorian flower pressing, Fiona creates delicate botanical artwork using flowers grown in her Scottish garden and hand pressed using traditional methods.
Her work celebrates the fleeting beauty of nature and brings together art, craft and the natural world in a really thoughtful way.
You can view Fiona’s work in the Humbie Hub café until 14th June.

If you’ve not visited the current exhibition at the Humbie Hub yet, there’s still time to come and see it before it finishes on 14th June.

“Edges & Echoes” brings together the work of three East Lothian paper artists:
Rosemary Everett, Emily Hogarth and Fiona McDougall of Wilderframe.

The exhibition features paper collage, printed papers and sculptural paper work, all displayed in the café space at the Hub.

It’s a lovely excuse to stop by for a coffee, take a slower look around and support local artists at the same time.

The exhibition is free to view during Hub opening hours. We'll see you there!
