RAF Air Cadets and CFAVs have the opportunity to attend the Light Aircraft Association (LAA) Rally 2026 at Leicester Airfield, with FREE ENTRY for RAFAC cadets and staff.

WHAT IS THE LAA RALLY?

The LAA Rally is one of the UK’s major general aviation gatherings and, for 2026, celebrates the 80th Anniversary of the Light Aircraft Association.

Over the three days, more than 600 aircraft are expected to fly in, subject to weather, alongside a special 80th Anniversary static aircraft display representing the LAA fleet through the years.

The event includes:

•⁠ ⁠Static aircraft displays
•⁠ ⁠STEM Zone with interactive activities
•⁠ ⁠Homebuilding and hands-on engineering activities
•⁠ ⁠Speakers Corner with talks and seminars
•⁠ ⁠Aircraft manufacturers, suppliers and aviation organisations
•⁠ ⁠Opportunities to see aircraft up close and meet pilots, owners and engineers

Huge congratulations to three exceptional Cadets who've soared to new heights, achieving their Gold Wings in Advanced Glider Training! 💥 Sgt Curtis from 207 Cranfield Squadron ATC , FS Humphreys from2417 (Newmarket) Sqn ATC , and FS Asimov from 104 (City of Cambridge) Squadron have demonstrated unwavering dedication and perseverance, pushing themselves to new limits as Flight Staff Cadets at @611 Volunteer Gliding Squadron . Their hard work and commitment are a shining example of what's possible when you believe in yourself and your abilities! ✈️

National Air & Space Camp 2025 | Inspiring the Next Generation

What an incredible week at the National Air & Space Camp (NASC), the RAF Air Cadets' premier aerospace event, bringing together young people from across the UK to explore the worlds of air, space, cyber and STEM.

Cadets enjoyed a packed programme of hands-on experiences and unique opportunities, from drone operations and cutting-edge STEM activities to aviation workshops and flying experiences designed to develop skills, confidence and ambition.

The camp was made even more memorable through visits and flying displays featuring some iconic aircraft. Cadets had the opportunity to see the world-famous Red Arrows, the impressive RAF Chinook, and the legendary B-17 Flying Fortress, providing unforgettable moments and a real insight into both modern and historic aviation.

Alongside meeting industry partners, aerospace professionals and fellow cadets, participants gained valuable knowledge about future careers in aviation, engineering, space and technology, helping to turn aspirations into reality.

A fantastic week of learning, inspiration and adventure, showcasing exactly what the RAF Air Cadets and NASC are all about.

With so many fantastic activities organised by 2 Flying Training School, our Cadets have tried new things from stripping an internal combustion engine through to learning about Air Traffic Control, and even designing and building their own Drones!

What an unforgettable week it has been at RAF Boulmer Summer Camp! 🌞 The excitement and camaraderie was infectious as we culminated this fantastic week with the highly anticipated Camp Awards ceremony. 🏆 We are thrilled to announce the well-deserved winners:
