PC Watson from Ilkeston Safer Neighbourhood Team is investigating an number of incidents relating to shop thefts around the Ilkeston area.

PC Watson said ''We appreciate there are a number of faces here but we believe the persons shown in these images may be able to assist with our enquiries. ''

''Shop theft is not a victimless crime, its not just a few pounds here and there, it equate to hundreds if not thousands of pounds, it supports substance misuse and organised crime, ultimately this means our community ends up paying more for their groceries and supplies. Besides that, the shop staff that assist us in store deserve to go to work in a safe environment without being put in fear from those that take items without any intention to pay.''

In the space of 4 days, PCSO Bradley and PCSO McCormack have found 2 cars that had been recently stolen from the area.
A silver Ford Fiesta was found at Windsor Crescent Playing Fields in Kirk Hallam on Friday (02/10/26).
A blue Mini Cooper was found at the carpark behind Jervis Court in Cotmanhay today (05/10/26).

Yesterday this Audi came to attention to our officers, upon carrying out checks it had no insurance.
The vehicle was quickly stopped and recovery was arranged.

We will be on hand at the Castlefield Café, High Lane East, West Hallam on Tuesday 6th October at 10am.

Rural beat Officers from the Ilkeston Safer Neighbourhood Team are holding a 'Street Meets' on Tuesday 6th October as they carry out their foot patrol.

The meets will take place at the following places:-

🔹 Queen Elizabeth Way Shopping Parade, Kirk Hallam At 11:30am
🔹 Co-Op Alfreton Road, Little Eaton at 2pm

These meets are intended to give residents a chance to speak to us about any local policing issues or concerns.

Come along and pick up advice on crime prevention and find out more information about keeping in touch with us through our free Derbyshire Alert messaging system.
