🌸 Meet Colin – 40 years of growing and selling beautiful flowers! 🌷

For more than 40 years, Colin has been a familiar face at Long Eaton Market, bringing his customers beautiful, fresh flowers — many of which are grown in his own nursery. 🌱

With his own greenhouses, Colin takes real pride in growing quality blooms. His day starts at 4am, choosing the very best flowers for his loyal customers to enjoy at home.

❤️ “I love having my own nursery. It means I can bring a top-quality product to the people of Long Eaton. I have regular customers who deserve only the best. The majority of what I sell is home grown, and that’s what makes me proud of my stall.”

Over four decades, Colin has built lasting relationships with local families, with generations returning to buy his flowers. He is at Long Eaton market every Friday and Saturday.

Residents can win a £25 prize by saying how they would like to see their Erewash neighbourhood transformed – ahead of a hotly-anticipated £20million of Pride in Place funding being spent there.

Local people in Cotmanhay are being urged to take part in a quick online survey that asks what matters most to them, what challenges they face and what their vision for the area’s future is.

It's back to normal opening hours for Erewash Museum which is Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11am to 4pm.

This week we are back to normal opening hours which is Thursday, Friday and Saturday 11am to 4pm.

The museum, Dalby House Café and Old Stable Bookshop will all be open and entry is free of charge.

We will be back to the usual menu in the café so pop in and enjoy a toastie or jacket potato this week! We hope to see you very soon.

📚 Back-to-school tip: think reduce, reuse, recycle before buying new!

As the new school year approaches, help cut waste and save money by making the most of what you already have.

✅ Do an inventory of existing items, and buy only what you need
✅ Reuse last year's school items such as backpacks, lunchboxes, stationery and if it still fits, uniform
✅ Choose preloved where possible. Most schools offer free preloved uniform items
✅ Repair instead of replace
✅ Pass unwanted/outgrown items on to others
✅ Recycle worn-out clothing at a clothing bank or Ilkeston Household Waste Recycling Centre. Please don't put them in any of your bins at home

Small changes can save you money, reduce waste and help our environment. Let's make this school year a little greener. 🌍📚♻️
