As Foster Care Fortnight draws to a close, we wanted to end on this from Jen, one of our incredible Foster Carer Ambassadors. If you've ever considered fostering, please do take the time to read this and hear about the family's experience, it really does show the difference fostering makes in the lives of young people.

'For us as a foster caring family, we have thoroughly enjoyed watching the young person in our care grow and develop in such an admirable way. These children deserve so much credit — they have often come from troubled backgrounds, and seeing them grow, even in the smallest ways, brings so much joy.
Watching the young person in our care grow in confidence and feel comfortable joining different after-school groups and sports has been a pleasure to see.
Fostering has not always been easy, but during the more challenging times we have felt fully supported by our support network and Affinity.'

A successful day today at the Southend Jobs Fair with Carer Recruitment Officer, Floria, and Foster Carer Ambassadors, Kim and Tracey! It was lovely to see so many people interested in fostering with Affinity and to spread the word about fostering, so a big thank you to everyone who spoke with us. As part of Foster Carer Fortnight, we want to recognise the positive stories that come from fostering, and the amazing things our Foster Carers and young people do. Last year, two of our wonderful Foster Carers and young people took part in a charity walk for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, and raised an incredible £260!! A fantastic achievement and one that they should be very proud of.
