Our FINAL geology walk of 2020 takes place this Saturday, and it’s not too late to get tickets! Join us on a journey above and below Ingleborough, one of the Yorkshire Dales National Parks famous Three Peaks, for a 450 million year journey through time. On this guided walk, lead by a local expert caver and published author, you will explore some of the UK’s finest limestone scenery.
Our bespoke route was put together specifically for this event, and will take you to many sites of significant geological interest including a major unconformity, the Craven Fault system, Ingleborough Cave, Trow Gill gorge, Gaping Gill and other fascinating lesser known features.
This event offers a unique opportunity to learn, from a caver’s perspective, how the Ingleborough district and its magnificent cave systems have been created and sculpted by nature, including several ice ages.
This rare opportunity to explore a fascinating geological story is intended for the interested lay person and geology students. Those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an appropriate adult. Expect to walk about 7 miles in typical outdoor terrain, with the possibility of an extension for those who wish.
Tickets are available from our website.
