Every quarter, we like to remind ourselves that being a firefighter involves more than just looking good in a helmet! πŸ˜‚

Our drill night includes a fitness session to help keep us strong, fit and ready for the physical demands of the job. It’s an important part of staying operationally ready and, most importantly, looking after ourselves and each other.

There may be a few sore legs, plenty of heavy breathing and the odd complaint along the way… but we’ll blame that on the weather! πŸ˜…

**Fit to respond. Ready for the job. Stronger as a team.** πŸ”₯πŸš’

πŸš’ **Monday Night Training! πŸ”₯**

How many firefighters can you fit in a cage? πŸ˜‚

Training had us all crawling, squeezing and working our way through the cages in BA, putting our confined-space skills to the test.

There were plenty of laughs along the way, but this type of training is incredibly important. Practising in challenging, confined environments helps us build the skills, confidence and teamwork we may need if we ever find ourselves trapped or needing to rescue someone in a real-life incident.

A great night of training, plenty of fun, and another step towards being ready for whatever comes our way. πŸ’ͺπŸš’

**Train hard. Train together. Stay safe.** πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ”₯

Invergordon Fire Station – Make Pumps 4 πŸš’πŸ”₯

Both Invergordon pumps were mobilised as Make Pumps 4 to a farm near Portmahomack for a baler fire, which unfortunately spread into a standing crop. 🌾πŸ”₯

Crews got stuck in and worked hard to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading any further.

A tough day for the farmer, with the baler sadly becoming a casualty, but a great effort from all the crews involved. πŸš’πŸ‘

πŸš’ **WEEKLY ROUND-UP | 9 SHOUTS** πŸš’

It’s been another busy week for the crew, with **9 shouts** keeping us on our toes.

Our **Wildfire Unit** has been particularly busy, heading out to the incident down at Nethy Bridge.πŸ”₯πŸš’

Whether it’s wildfire response, road traffic incidents or supporting our local communities, the crews continue to be ready whenever the call comes in.

**9 shouts. One team. Always ready.** πŸ’ͺπŸš’

Stay safe, everyone! πŸ”₯

We’re looking to add to our crew of On Call Firefighters here at Invergordon.

Our current crew, made up of 16 males and 3 females, come from all different backgrounds and bring a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience to the team.

We all provide emergency cover to our local area and beyond by responding to our pagers when they are activated.

The amount of on call time we give and when we give it is flexible with various contract options available but we are specifically interested in speaking to people who could commit to providing an element of daytime and weekend on-call availability with us.

You must be 18 years old, and all necessary training is provided before starting.

For more information we’d like to invite anyone interested to come along to Invergordon Community Fire Station on Monday 24th August at 7pm.

The response to some of our recent posts in relation to our attendance at the ongoing Cairngorm Wildfire incident has been massive so we would appreciate it again if you would like, share and tag anyone who you think might be up for this challenge!

Thank you,
The Invergordon crew πŸš’ πŸ”₯

**πŸ“Ÿ July Recap – Invergordon**

It's the 1st of August, so here's how July looked...

**🚨 63 shouts.**

Sixty-three.

At this point we're convinced the pager's developed separation anxiety and simply refuses to leave us alone. πŸ˜…

A massive thank you to everyone who answered the call, no matter the time or weather. Here's hoping August is a little quieter... but we won't be putting any money on it! πŸš’

πŸš’ **Invergordon Fire Station – Weekly Round-Up** πŸš’

The pager's definitely earned its keep this week...

Since Monday we've been mobilised to 24 shouts and we're now heading to **stand by in Inverness to keep cover.

We're beginning to think someone forgot where the "off" button is! πŸ˜‚

Hopefully that's us done for the week... although experience tells us that's usually when the pager decides to prove us wrong! πŸš’
