🧵✨ The North Tower Bar was filled with creativity, conversation and craftsmanship on Friday as we welcomed 25 guests to two special weaving workshops with Prickly Thistle.

Led by founder Claire Campbell, participants enjoyed a hands-on introduction to weaving, with plenty of concentration, laughter and chat throughout the morning and evening sessions.

Each person created their own piece of The Inverness Castle Experience tartan, marking the first time this unique design has been woven outside the Prickly Thistle mill in Evanton.

It was wonderful to see people coming together to learn a traditional Highland craft, share stories and experience a small part of the living heritage that continues to shape the Highlands today.

A huge thank you to Claire and everyone who joined us and helped make our first ticketed events in the North Tower Bar so special.

🐾 Happy International Dog Day to our very own castle pup, Cuillin! 🐾

Did you know Lucy at Muirtown Primary School in Inverness named Cuillin as part of a Highland schools competition to name Flora MacDonald's faithful dog, immortalised on the statue outside the castle?

You can follow the Cuillin Trail as part of your Castle adventures, and take a little bit of Cuillin home with you thanks to the Cuillin range in our Castle Shop. This August, you can complete the free Cuillin Garden Trail, and every family booking a ticket to the experience receives a FREE copy of Cuillin's Big Adventure activity book to help young explorers make the most of their visit.

📚✨ Join us for a special storytime at the Castle Shop!

We're delighted to welcome illustrator and author Phoebe Roze on Friday 14 August at 11 am for a free family-friendly hour.

Phoebe will be reading from her debut children's picture book, Our Islands, followed by a meet-and-greet and book signing. 🖍️📖

Inspired by the landscapes, wildlife and stories of the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Phoebe's colourful illustrations celebrate the places she knows and loves, bringing them to life through enchanting characters and adventures.

Our Islands, along with a selection of Phoebe Roze prints and cards, will be available to purchase in the Castle Shop.

We look forward to seeing you there! 🏰
