We recently hosted three very successful events for the equally successful Inverness Fringe Festival festival! Are you a local musician or band looking for rehearsal space or a small gig venue? Come in and see us on Tuesdays or Wednesdays between 11am and 2pm, or tomorrow, Saturday 24th between 11am and 3pm. Have a look at the space, get a feel for the sound of people just talking, and see what you think. You can chat to one of our volunteers or board members there 🤗

Sad news that Inverness and the Highlands didn’t make the short list, but as their post says, many fantastic collaborations and partnerships were formed, and we look forward to being a part of them going forward 🤗

Thank you, Inverness & Highland.

We didn’t make the shortlist for UK City of Culture this time, and we’re disappointed. But we’re incredibly proud of what this bid has already done.

Over the past months and years, artists, musicians, Gaelic speakers, schools, businesses and volunteers came together to show what makes the Highlands special. That energy doesn’t go away because of one decision.

The partnerships, projects and ambitions we built along the way are staying with us. Continue to watch this space for what’s next: Highland Cultural Assemblies, Youth Cultural Conversations, and much more from our cultural strategy .

Thank you to everyone who got involved, shared a story, turned up to an event or backed us online.

The Highlands has never seen this kind of cultural momentum before - so lets keep it going!

We are delighted to announce a Jacobite Authors evening in The Old High on Friday 27 November! Local authors Barbara Henderson (The Reluctant Rebel), S G MacLean (The Bookseller of Inverness), and Sarah Fraser (The Last Highlander), will be answering a few questions in a panel format, followed by an audience Q&A, then a book signing 📚🤗

A big thank you to everyone who came along to our open meeting tonight! As we can only take 50 folk plus volunteers at the moment, we were full - although the pictures don’t look like it!

Good updates from Jean (our Chair), Chris (our Secretary), and Thomas (vice Chair and PR guy), and a good few questions asked in the open Q&A.

Brian Beattie, who’s in charge of the City of Culture 2029 bid, also gave a good speech about the bid, and how The Old High is an excellent venue for some of the many events that will be held if Inverness is successful in the bid.

Exciting times ahead! 🤗
