New Date - Army Work Experience Course (WEX)

31st August until 04th September 2026 - 40 Spaces

Our popular free Army Work Experience course (WEX) that is held in Dingwall has new dates. This is a great opportunity to see what the British Army is about, working with our Outreach Team Scotland. All food, accommodation, and equipment are provided and this is free of charge. This is open to the age group of 14 until 18 years old, and you do not have to apply to join the British Army to attend.

As part of the Army Winter Sports Association. Mark from Army Careers Inverness travelled to Lillehammer, Norway. Attending Ex Racing Ice 1 training in a week-long camp focusing on Bobsleigh.

This week-long novice camp showed a new side of ice sports (Luge, Skeleton & Bobsleigh). Where participants reached up to 100km/h, going down the Olympic track. Due to a good performance being invited back to Ex Racing Ice 2 with the Royal Artillery in January 2026.

During our visit to Uist we had the pleasure of visiting the Benbecula detachment - 1st Battalion The Highlanders Army Cadet Force. Hosting us on a seperate night from their weekly training night. Massive thank you to all who attended and look forward to meeting again when visting Sgoil Lionacleit / Developing the Young Workforce Outer Hebrides in the future.
