The entries for The McCormick Cup for The Best Allotment at Tornagrain’s Green Fingers 2024, were all of a very high standard. Malcolm who helped to set up the first allotments in 2018, kindly came back to judge. Congratulations to Liz whose small, but beautiful allotment, was awarded 1st prize. Liz’s combination of fruit, vegetables, flowers, herbs and wildlife friendly spaces, all developed since last autumn has created the most incredible space buzzing with wildlife. Elena was awarded 2nd Place for her allotment, who has achieved an incredible amount in the first planting season. Frances’ wildlife friendly space took 3rd place and congratulations to Joe and Rosie who were awarded a Highly Commended for creating a plot that we can’t wait to see develop. Thank you to all our residents who entered, all of your allotments were very impressive. Thank you to Malcolm for coming back again to judge this year. Congratulations to Stuart and Grace, winners of The Malvina Cup for the Best Garden in the Tornagrain Green Fingers 2024 competition. The judges were amazed at how much you had achieved in such a short space of time with the gorgeous planting and clever layout. Three of the top four gardens were all created this year, which made them even more impressive. Congratulations to James and Iona on their second place for their beautiful front garden, admired by many. Both Stephanie and Les and Jen have been cleverly maximising their spaces into somewhere the judges all felt they could sit and relax.
