With more hot weather forecast this week, the RNLI and Water Safety Scotland are teaming up to remind everyone to stay safe while enjoying the water 🌊

If you are keen to feel the cool embrace of Scottish water during the warm weather, then remember, warm air does not mean warm water. Scotland’s water remains cool when the sun would say otherwise.

Refresh yourself on how to stay safe in cold waters by learning Scotland’s Water Safety Code:

Congratulations Tractor Driver Norman! 🚜

One of our newest volunteers at Kessock Norman has shown his dedication and enthusiasm by quickly progressing through his Shore Crew and Tractor Driver training, passing out as a Tractor Driver last week with RNLI Assessor Evan.

Norman has already had his first shout as Tractor Driver 🛟

Join us at Glenkyllachy Open Garden this Sunday 14 June, 2pm–5pm and help support the incredible lifesaving work of the RNLI

At 07:11 today, Tuesday 12th May, Kessock lifeboat was requested to launch by HM Coastguard.

The boat has since returned to station and has been made ready for service.

We thank the public for their support and remind everyone if they see anyone in danger near water to please call the coastguard on 999

From all of us at Kessock Lifeboat Station, we extend our heartfelt condolences to our fellow search and rescue colleagues at Marine Rescue NSW, following the tragic incident in Ballina, Australia.

The loss of their two volunteers is felt on a global scale and is a sobering reminder of the immense danger search and rescue volunteers face every day at sea. We recognise the profound impact tragedies like this have on families, crews and communities. Our thoughts are with them all.

We honour the courage, commitment and selflessness of those involved, and of everyone who dedicates their lives to saving lives at sea.

They will not be forgotten. Fair winds and following seas

Nathan Evans Regional Lifesaving Lead for Scotland (interim) presenting Jane Hier with an Excellence in Volunteering Award from the Head of Region in recognition for services to Women in SAR initiative.

Jane has been instrumental in the organisation and support to this over the past year and the award is well deserved.

RNLI Kessock Lifeboat Station is looking for a volunteer Tractor Driver to join our team.

🚜 What’s involved?
You’ll play a vital role launching and recovering our Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat for call‑outs and exercises.

✅ You don’t need previous tractor experience – full training is provided
✅ Be part of a friendly, committed local team
✅ Learn new skills and give something back to your community
