Last week’s awards at the V&A Dundee were a brilliant celebration of Tayside’s entrepreneurial talent. We were proud to support the founders who stepped forward and shared their ideas with such confidence.

Congratulations to The.Tuskers, who won a £15,000 award for their innovative Sri Lankan street food truck, and Arngask Farm, who also secured a £15,000 award for their community focused approach to premium, locally produced food. Both are Business Gateway clients making a real impact in their communities, and their success is incredibly well deserved.

We also want to recognise all the finalists, including several Business Gateway supported businesses. Taking part in EDGE is a huge step, and each founder showed real ambition and resilience.

Our CEO, Rachel Ross, opened the pitching session with a message celebrating that spirit, acknowledging the courage it takes to put your ideas out there.

A big thank you to Scottish EDGE, Growbiz and the full Tayside delivery team for hosting such an inspiring event. We’re excited to see what these businesses do next.

A brilliant way to bring everything together. 💜

Today marked the final showcase of Bold Beginnings, celebrating the women who recently completed the programme - building confidence, exploring ideas, and taking steps towards something new.

Bringing everyone together in one room - participants, partners and supporters - was a powerful reminder of what can happen when the right support is in place.

We were delighted to welcome the Deputy First Minister, Kate Forbes MSP, Cllr Margaret Graham, and Professor Norin Arshed of the University of Strathclyde, who helped recognise the achievements of the group and celebrate their progress.

For many of the women involved, this is just the beginning - and it’s been a privilege to be part of that journey.

🚂 The first group from our Scottish Rural Leadership Programme cohort headed to London for a learning journey examining how to champion rural business and engage government.

🧵Elevator CEO Rachel Ross DL attended a reception at marking the launch of a new partnership between GSA Rural Lab and the Scottish Womens Institutes, focused on craft heritage, collaboration, and future research opportunities.

📈 Our Scaling E-commerce programme, being delivered on behalf of Business Gateway continued, with an engaging session from Janine Marriott.

🌎 The 14-week Amazon Accelerator, delivered in partnership with Scottish Development International and Scottish Enterprise, kicked off in Edinburgh, with a focus on scaling internationally with Amazon and other global marketplaces.
