You can book onto as many workshops as you’d like – all workshops are designed to offer something different.
Booking for the summer holiday sessions opens on Friday 19th June 2026, online only via Suffolk Libraries website.
Stoke are offering 10 spaces per session, half are free for students who receive benefits related free school meals, and half are charged at £20 per student per session. Lunch and snacks throughout the day are included along with all materials and equipment.

28 July- Kelly Hammond
Threads of Creativity: A Yarn Art Workshop
This full-day creative workshop invites participants to explore colour, texture and self-expression through yarn art. Using canvases to create unique textile-inspired artworks using wool. Like painting but with yarn!
The workshop is designed to be accessible to all abilities and encourages creativity, mindfulness and connection. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with different materials, colours and patterns while developing their own individual designs in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Throughout the day, participants will build confidence in their creative practice, share ideas with others and enjoy the process of making. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have completed a finished yarn art piece to take home.
4 August- Lily Hammond
Cut, Paste, Create! A Zine & Bookmark Workshop
Join artist Lily for a fun and creative workshop inspired by the books, magazines and stories around you.
Using collage, drawing, patterned papers, washi tape and creative prompts, you'll create your own handmade zine celebrating something you love. Whether that's your favourite book, sport, hobby, animal, nature, art, music or anything else that inspires you. You'll also design a matching bookmark to take home.
This relaxed, hands-on workshop encourages creativity, self-expression and storytelling, with plenty of materials to explore and experiment with. Suitable for all abilities and no previous experience is needed.
11 August- Charlie Law
Participants will explore the library, gathering books which they will mine for lyrical ideas. Participants will pick their favourite words and collate them using the William Burroughs Cut Up Method (used by David Bowie). Together with Charlie they will create a song and perform and record it at the end of the day. The workshop will be fun and interactive, encouraging participants to step out of their comfort zone, and walk away with new skills and connections. Disclaimer: No books will be harmed in the making of this song!
18 August- Joanna Pink (new artist)
Look Closer: Print Studio invites you to discover the hidden details of the world around you, using handheld digital microscopes and projectors. We’ll look closely at everyday objects and natural materials to find unexpected textures, patterns and shapes.
These discoveries will be the starting point for drawing and experimental printmaking using gelli plates. Turn what you see into bold, colourful prints and images, experimenting with layering, mark-making and composition. This workshop is all about noticing more, trying new things and building confidence through making. Everyone will leave with a set of prints or a handmade zine.
25 August- Angela Laverick (new artist)
Behind the Mask Workshop
This is a fun, interactive and lively full mask workshop. Participants will make their own mask, create their own characters and tell their own stories. It introduces them to full mask theatre and the devising process. They gain confidence in a safe and encouraging environment, using the mask to explore new techniques and styles of performance. Participants can let their imagination and creativity shine while telling stories that are important to them. This is also a great way to meet new friends, make meaningful connections and have a laugh!
