Suffolk Freemasons Rally to Support Combat2Coffee After Break-In
Suffolk Freemasons have stepped forward to support local veterans’ charity Combat2Coffee after news broke of a devastating break-in that left the organisation facing significant financial pressure. Essential equipment had been stolen that prevented them from attending their usual events, not only to provide great coffee, but also to engage with vetrans.
After hearing about the incident, Suffolk Freemasons immediately launched an appeal to their members and, within just 24 hours, had pledged donations in excess of £3,000 to help Combat2Coffee recover and continue its vital work in the community.
Combat2Coffee, founded by veteran Nigel “Nige” Seaman, has become widely respected for the support it provides to veterans, emergency service personnel, and members of the community struggling with mental health challenges, trauma, and isolation.
Jon Neill, Charity Steward for Suffolk Freemasons, said:
“Nigel and Combat2Coffee does amazing work in our community and part of our focus is helping our communities, so we felt we just had to step in and ease the pressure for him. We caught up with him at the Suffolk Show (May 2026) and he was having a bad day. We made it a little easier for him and brightened up the bad news of the break-in with some positive action.”
The donation is the latest in a series of community projects delivered by Suffolk Freemasons throughout 2026. Their work this year has included funding prostate cancer screening initiatives, supporting garden makeovers for schools in Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft, organising school fishing days for local SEND schools, and contributing £25,000 to help Kitchener’s Hotel in Lowestoft expand its community support services.
Once known for its secrecy, Suffolk Freemasons say the organisation is continuing to embrace transparency and openness, inviting people to visit lodges and centres to better understand the positive work Freemasonry carries out across local communities.
A spokesperson said the organisation wants people to see that there are “no secrets” — just a strong commitment to charity, friendship, and community support.
