Our Education, Engagement and Outreach manager Kimya, has been to the East Suffolk Federation Women’s Institute’s annual meeting at Trinity Park, offering free skin checks to attendees. We are incredibly proud of this important outreach work, which plays a key role in early detection and .

It simply wouldn’t be possible without the support of Claire, Stacey and Kate - the fantastic West Suffolk Hospital Skin Cancer Nurse Specialists (pictured above).

We talked with lots of people and 95 were seen for skin checks.
Out of these 95 people:-
Basal Cell Carcinoma – (the most common type of non-melanoma skin cancer) – 10
Melanoma – this is the most deadly form of skin cancer – 5
Bowen’s Disease – (Pre-cancerous skin lesions that are slow growing) – 2

These attendees were then advised to seek help from their own GPs.

Together, we can make a difference and potentially save lives. 🧡💜
