Bourne Park Paddling Pool Update
Thursday 27 August 2026

Vandalism and anti-social behaviour overnight has resulted in broken beer bottles being found around the paddling pool, including pieces of glass in the water itself.

To ensure everyone’s safety, the paddling pool now needs to be drained to allow for a full inspection and clean-up.

Holywells Park splash pad will remain open, weather permitting, but due to current water restrictions, Bourne paddling pool will not be refilled.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank residents for their understanding while we carry out the necessary safety measures.

A special moment in Christchurch Park as Ipswich's third Legend on the Bench is installed. 💙

Made possible through the support of a local family, the bench provides a place for reflection, connection and support and includes a QR code linking to mental health services.

Located near the Mansion Lawn, this is the third Legend on the Bench in Ipswich, joining others in Bourne Park and Chantry Park.

Could you be the café operator at the reimagined Ipswich Museum?

A new chapter is coming to one of Suffolk's most historic cultural destinations and we're looking for an ambitious café operator to be part of it.

Ipswich Museum is reopening in 2027 following a major redevelopment, creating a vibrant new destination for culture, learning, events and community activity.

The café opportunity includes:

- Up to 54 indoor covers
- Potential for 20 terrace covers
- A prominent High Street location
- Opportunities to cater for museum events and private functions
- Flexible fit out options
- A diverse potential visitor and local customer base

We're looking for an operator who can create a distinctive food and drink offer that works not only for museum visitors, but as a destination café in its own right.

Could this be your next venture?
