The section was helping to cover at Princes Street yesterday in light of the Suffolk Show🐎🚜☀️Supported by colleagues from Debenham Fire Station and Hadleigh Fire Station - Suffolk, UK

We were mobilised at 14:45 to an outbuilding fire which consisted of x2 outbuildings and x2 private vehicles. There was an impressive smoke plume seen from several miles away and was soon knocked back by Framlingham who were first in attendance and 'Made Pumps 4'. On arrival, we worked with Framlingham to knock back the fire and quickly had it under control using multiples hose reels and BA 💦🔥

Appliances also supported the incident from Harleston and Diss Fire Stations Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service👍👍

Thank you to Carlo from Francesco Hair Salon who kindly donated some sweets to the crew!

These will give us a boost when we need it, but we don't expect them to last long! 😋😋🍭🍬

We really appreciate your support.

Friday 24 April - A busy start to the weekend for us.

Starting with a standby midday, we were then mobilised in the afternoon to assist multiple agencies with an incident near the Orwell Bridge.

From this, we were mobilised to standby at Stowmarket Fire Station, and a few hours later we were moved to Bury St Edmunds Fire Station.

Before we arrived at Bury, we were mobilised to the on-going incident at HMP Highpoint where we spent several hours tackling the fire using BA with our colleagues from Holbrook Fire Station and Haverhill Fire Station🔥🚒

We focussed on skills to help us deliver numerous interventions at a range of incidents and to treat time critical and potentially life changing trauma🚒🩺

Developing these skills are crucial for us to save and sustain life✅

The Officer in Charge of Princes Street Fire Station - On-Call Section took this photograph on the way back from an incident near Otley to show the current water levels on some of our country roads.

Due to the amount of rain that's fallen we are seeing surface water flooding in places, please don't drive through floodwater and allow up to 48 hours for water to dissipate. It is never worth the risk

⚠️🔥85,000 tumble dryers still at risk of fire.
Affected brands include: Candy, Baumatic, Caple, Haier, Hoover, Lamona, Iberna, Montpellier.

‼️Check yours now.

An internal short circuit can occur during normal use, causing your tumble dryer to ignite and start a fire in your home.
It takes a few minutes to check if yours is affected. Find your model and serial number, and either check online or contact the manufacturer to see if your appliance needs a free repair.

Do not use your tumble dryer until the repair is complete. Unplug it if possible.

Yesterday, following receipt of a malicious communication, Suffolk Police requested the presence of Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service at Suffolk One. With colleagues from Ipswich East Fire Station as a precaution, we assisted the police to implement safe systems of work.

Following a comprehensive search of the building by the police and explosive detection dogs, the communication was declared a hoax.

Candles and jack-o-lanterns can cause a serious risk to children dressing up in fancy dress costumes. Always purchase costumes from reputable retailers and check the label 👻🎃 All clothing will burn if in contact with naked flames, but some MUCH faster than others🔥

If clothing does catch alight - STOP, DROP and ROLL, apply water and contact emergency services if necessary ✅
