🔷 EPISODE 6
The Strategy to Strip Bawumia of His Record, And Why We Must Respond
THE DMB CHANNEL — Where Vision Meets Memory
⸻———————————————————————-
Let’s be clear on this:
This new tactic is not about praise for Akufo-Addo.
It’s about discrediting Bawumia without saying his name.
They say Akufo-Addo was retained in 2008 because of “performance.”
They imply Bawumia hasn’t earned the same trust.
But this comparison is not only false, it’s strategically dishonest.
📚Let’s review the facts:
• Akufo-Addo was never Vice President.
He had no direct economic responsibility under Kufuor.
He wasn’t blamed for fuel prices, inflation, or hardship.
• There was no global crisis during his tenure as minister.
No pandemic. No global supply chain collapse.
No Ukraine war. No oil shock. No lockdown economy.
• Nobody in Parliament intended to stage a press conference to express concerns about Kufuor’s legacy like it happened in Akufo-Addo’s era.
No one said, “Akufo-Addo must defend everything Kufuor did.”
But that’s exactly what Bawumia has been forced to do, and survive.
This is political isolation.
🎯The goal is to:
• Separate Bawumia from the party’s successes
• Attach him to every public frustration
• And then say: “You see? He can’t win.”
It’s an inside job, dressed as commentary.
It’s deliberate.
And it’s dangerous.
But if Bawumia is to blame for 2024, then what explains the dozens of parliamentary seats we lost?
He wasn’t on those ballots. He didn’t campaign in all those constituencies.
So is that Bawumia too?
You can’t scapegoat one man for a nationwide trend.
If defeat is shared, then so must be the responsibility, and the truth.
💡This Is the Truth:
• Akufo-Addo was not blamed for Kufuor.
• But Bawumia is blamed for every pain under Akufo-Addo.
• Yet, Bawumia is the only Vice President in our history who was visible, responsive, and leading real reforms.
From Mobile Money Interoperability to the Ghana Card, from Gold for Oil to Digital Addressing, he didn’t just talk, he delivered.
The NDC mocked him.
Parts of our own party abandoned him.
But he never ran.
He never disowned the struggle.
He took the hits, for Ghana and for the NPP.
And now that the economy is stabilizing,
they fall silent.
But they won’t say it’s His initiatives.
Because the moment you admit he was right,
you also admit you lied.
✍️This Is a Test of the Party’s Memory
If this party forgets who stood in the storm,
If we pretend 2020–2022 didn’t happen,
If we punish survival instead of celebrating resilience,
Then we aren’t a party. We’re a faction.
The NPP didn’t retain Akufo-Addo in 2008 because he was flawless.
We did so because we believed in continuity of vision.
Bawumia has lived the challenges.
He knows the system.
He’s delivered reforms under pressure.
And he remains the most visible Vice President Ghana has had.
When the base sees confusion at the top, they stay home.
And as they stayed home in 2024, we didn’t just lose a candidate, we risked the future of the party itself.
This isn’t just about him.
It’s about what kind of party we want to be.
❤️💔Do we reward service, or sabotage it?
This isn’t about personal loyalty.
It’s about party survival.
When we allow internal voices to redefine our history,
To rewrite loyalty as failure,
And success as accident,
We don’t just risk division.
We risk collapse.
