What better way to celebrate International Dog Day than by catching up with our very own Rachel from our Hertfordshire Advocacy Service? Rachel has been volunteering with Guide Dogs for many years, supporting the charity’s incredible work and helping to make a difference to the lives of people with sight loss. We asked Rachel about her volunteering journey, what inspires her, and what it’s really like to be involved with Guide Dogs.

🥐☕ New breakfast packs have arrived in Hampshire! As part of our meals on wheels service, clients can now enjoy a delicious range of breakfast options delivered alongside their hot meal to enjoy the next day.

Clients can choose from a variety of breakfast options, including cereals and porridge served with milk, alongside snacks such as croissants, muffins and yoghurts. A range of drinks is also available, including apple juice, milkshakes and cappuccino sachets.

The breakfast packs offer a range of benefits for those receiving meals on wheels. As well as helping to maintain energy levels throughout the morning, they provide a convenient food option for those who need to take medication and add an extra layer of support in helping to prevent malnutrition.

Are you a communications professional who loves connecting with people, building relationships, and making a real difference in your community?

We're looking for a Deputy Communications & Engagement Manager to join our team and help raise awareness of HILS services across West Sussex, while supporting activity across Hampshire and other HILS locations.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll:
✅ Lead and deliver communications and marketing campaigns
✅ Build relationships with partners, stakeholders and local communities
✅ Create engaging digital and printed content
✅ Represent HILS at events, talks and meetings
✅ Support fundraising, awareness campaigns and organisational growth

📍 Based at our Ford site, West Sussex (with regular travel across the region)
💷 £30,000 - £32,000 FTE
⏰ Full-time, permanent role
