Jesmond Library Students

Jesmond Library Students Want quiet study space without having to walk into town? Fancy learning a new language? Check out our events..and even become a volunteer to add your own!

Jesmond Library was officially opened on 30 May 1963. Ironically the council decided to close the library as part of a series of funding cuts on 30th June 2013, just over 50 years after opening. The Friends of Jesmond Library are a group of volunteers who came together to save the much loved library and have now re-opened it as a community hub to maintain and enhance the free library services - we

offer a wide range of services and events, there’s something for everyone! Whether it’s quiet study space, courses outside of uni, talks or, debates – see what we can offer you! Jesmond Library are looking for volunteers, supporters and donors

Both the main room and the community room (the Catherine Cookson Room) of Jesmond Library are available to hire. If you would like to use either of these spaces for running an activity or holding a meeting, contact us on [email protected] for more information on prices and availability.
